Historique :	Cette statue a probablement appartenu aux soeurs de la Sagesse présentes à Montmorillon de 1800 à 1977.

Matériaux :	bois : peint, polychrome
Précision_sur la representation :	La Vierge est debout, hanchée à gauche, jambe droite fléchie en retrait, coude droit collé au corps, main ouverte et tendue ; la main gauche serre, contre la hanche, l'enfant qui est à demi-tourné vers sa mère, bras gauche tendu vers celle-ci, bras droit posé sur son épaule. La Vierge est vêtue d'une robe blanche à manches longues, petites encolure ronde, taille haute serrée par une ceinture, et plis contrariés sur le corsage ; le bas de la robe s'évase, par des plis irréguliers, sur les pieds qui sont nus dans des sandales. Un long manteau bleu, enveloppant les épaules et les bras, est drapé en sautoire devant le bas du corps et revient sur le bras gauche ; les plis peu nombreux soulignent la jambe droite. Un petit voile bleu clair recouvre en partie des cheveux noirs mi-longs bouffant sur les côtés. Le cou est allongé, le visage rond, le menton et la bouche petits, l'arête du nez large, les paupières saillantes.£L'enfant est nu excepté un petit lange posé sur sa cuisse droite ; ses jambes sont courtes, son visage rond, ses cheveux noirs courts et bouclés.
