Historique :	Comme les deux autres, cette mosaïque provient des fouilles de l'ancienne abbaye Sainte-Croix, à l'emplacement de l'église conventuelle. Cette mosaïque présente une inscription dont les mots sont liés à un poème de Venance Fortunat. Cette inscription inclinerait à imaginer que la construction était destinée à abriter le reliquaire de la Vraie Croix envoyé à sainte Radegonde par l'empereur byzantin Justin II. Toutefois, la strophe contenant cette phrase semble avoir été ajoutée au poème de Venance Fortunat vers le 9e siècle seulement. Les mosaïques découvertes doivent ainsi correspondre à une restauration de l'église entreprise sous le règne de Louis le Pieux, attestée par les textes.
